A Love for the North
In the mid-1970s, the Lüders family from Hamburg bought a thatched house in St. Peter-Ording as a holiday and weekend home. The family loved the beautiful countryside, the healthy North Sea air, the endless beach, and the proximity to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. To share his love of the area with other visitors, Werner Lüders bought a plot of land and opened a hotel in 1986. His daughter, Claudia Gerlach, took over the hotel at the end of 2010.
A Love for the AALERNHÜS
During extensive renovations, Claudia Gerlach renamed her father's hotel AALERNHÜS, which means 'parents' house' in the Frisian dialect and reflects part of the hotel's history as well as its cosy atmosphere.
Under the direction of General Manager Ralph Lüdersen, Claudia Gerlach continues to run the AALERNHÜS hotel & spa with great attention to detail. The hotel in St. Peter Ording is known for its warm atmosphere and highly personalised service that makes guests feel welcome. The entire team places great emphasis on hospitality and always strives to ensure that all guests have an unforgettable stay.
Even on my first visit, I was impressed by the Eiderstedt peninsula, St. Peter-Ording and especially the Aalernhüs, and I immediately felt at home. If you love the North Sea and its landscape, you'll keep coming back.
